Mater maternity and baby care products grow to meet need

Mater’s range of maternity and baby care products welcomed their latest addition in 2015—Mater Nappy Balm.

The balm’s unique formula is designed to replicate the protective barrier qualities of vernix—the naturally occurring substance produced in the womb which coats and protects baby before birth—repelling wetness while maintaining breathability to protect baby’s sensitive skin.

The availability of our product range, which was co-created by Mater Midwives + Mums, also expanded through an exciting partnership with Woolworths.

This milestone has seen the range stocked within 11 Woolworths stores across the South East Queensland region, reinforcing the quality of the product range following its Australian Made certification for the skin care products earlier in the year.

Proceeds from Mater’s product range help support Mater Little Miracles to help fund specialist life-saving care and research that will help give babies the best possible start to life.

Moubment Group

Since the birth of his two children, Brisbane restaurateur Mel Moubarak has become the driving force behind the Moubment Group’s support of Mater Little Miracles.

Moubment Group—a boutique hospitality group comprising several venues across Brisbane—has raised more than $70 000 to support seriously ill and premature babies at Mater during the past few years.

Mel and his wife Katie learned about the work of Mater’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit following the birth of their son Michael in 2012.

“It really hit home to us how lucky we were that both our babies were born healthy. Unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky,” Mel said.

Mel signed up for Mater Little Miracles 5ks Walk—and encouraged his friends and family to do the same—and raised more than $5000 in his first year.

At the 2015 Mater Little Miracles 5ks Walk at South Bank, the Moubment Group hosted a food stall at the finishing line, with many suppliers donating food and staff volunteering their time support Mater Little Miracles.
